We are offering Faith Formation for Pre-k (4 years old), Kindergarten, 1- 5th Grade, middle school, and teen confirmation this year. Our mission is to communicate the treasures of faith to our young friends and teens and to their parents. Using the Emmaus model, we walk with our families on a journey toward encountering Jesus in breaking open the Word, breaking bread with the whole parish (Family Mass at 9:00 am), sharing the Good News with others in the spirit of fellowship (Building Community), and bringing the faith to others through acts of mission and service (Act Out).
Through Faith Formation, we aim to engage our kids through the traditional faith formation setting on Sunday’s and together with their families encourage them to be active learners and evangelizers of our faith.
Faith Formation consists of the children meeting in a traditional weekly setting for young children, an elementary grades.
Our middle school and teen confirmation groups, meet typically the first and third Sunday’s of the month.
In addition to the once a month Faith Formation Mass at the 9:00 am on the first Sunday of the month, and a few family gatherings throughout the year.
Pre-k & K – We will be using the Our Sunday Visitor Alleluia! Curriculum. Sunday weekly sessions will be held for the children. If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren) please contact Kellie De Leo before enrolling. We are currently working on establishing a time that works best for the families.
For non-sacramental prep families – We will be using the St. Mary’s Press curriculum. Sunday weekly sessions t 10 am – 11:15 am will be held for the children. Families will participate in once-a-month family Mass (first Sunday of the Month).
For sacramental prep families – Those who have a child(ren) who will be making their First Communion (year 2) we will use the St. Mary’s Press curriculum. Sunday weekly sessions at 10 am – 11:15 am will be held for the children. Families will participate in once-a-month family Mass (first Sunday of the month). In addition we will ask parents to complete the parent’s overview component sessions for reconciliation and communion.
Middle School:
Middle School – Teens will focus on community building and reinforcing the Catechetical foundation built in the lower elementary grades. Growth in the young person’s faith is strengthened with an emphasis on the Bible, Catholic teachings, and connecting our Catholic traditions with daily life. This ministry also facilitates the transition into the high school programs and continued parish involvement. The teens will the meet the First and third Sundays at 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Families will participate in once-a-month family Mass (first Sunday of the month).
Teen Confirmation: Teens are asked to make a stronger commitment to live their lives as a witness to Christ in their words, actions and deeds as they are prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation preparation is two years. They meet the first and third Sundays of the month at 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm, (there are some variations of the dates because of the holidays.) Families will participate in once-a-month family Mass (first Sunday of the month).

Faith Formation is a Lifelong Process
Learning about and living the principles of our Catholic faith is a lifelong process and not one intended to cover just those “Special Events” (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, etc.) in the lives of Catholics.
As parents, you dedicated your child at his/her Baptism and made the commitment to educate him/her in the teachings of the Catholic Church. It is precisely for this reason that ALL baptized Catholic children and youth from 1st Grade through 10th Grade not in a parochial school are EXPECTED to attend formal classes every year.
The faith formation responsibility includes the following:
